Avon Brochure Campaign 11 Catalog Online – Bug Guard Spring Sale !
Spring is here, and Summer is just around the corner. You can bet the insects got the Memo way before you did! So how do you combat all those Mosquitoes, Gnats, and you name it, all the other little buggers that show up at your outdoor party this year?
The answer is Bug Guard ! In the Avon Campaign 11 Brochure – Avon Bug Guard is on Sale! Long recognized as one of the “Go-To” insect repellants, Avon’s Bug Guard comes packed with some powerful, and yet, less objectionable of the commercial insect repellant compounds. Bug Guard also comes in a variety of application styles, such as aerosol sprays, wipes, and pumps. You can also get these fabulous products in lotions, and in each you will see a SPF factor you can chose from. That is a great perk when heading out to the Florida Beaches, and you want both insect, and sun protection. Knowing Bug Guard is designed for both types of protection means you won’t be wiping one protection over another, possibly incompatible product rendering one less effective.
So lets take a quick look at some of the Active Ingredients used in Insect Repellants. IR3535® – IR3535, or 3-[N-Butyl-N- acetyl]-aminopropionic acid, ethyl ester, was developed by Merck & Co., Inc. in the mid-1970s and has been used in Europe for more than 20 years. Registered for use in the U.S. in 1999, IR3535 can be irritating to the eyes and may dissolve or damage plastics, but poses few other safety risks. The above link goes to a Ad-Heavy website and has basic information about the 4 top Insect Repellant Compounds. I’m using the same site for all the compounds.
Bug Guard Plus IR3535 is featured on page 4 and as you can see it contains IR3535, and is one of the public’s current favorites. It is also relatively new to use in the USA, but a long history outside the US.
Picaridin, a recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO) for protection against mosquitoes that carry diseases, is not known to irritate skin and eyes, does not have a pungent odor, and does not dissolve plastics. It evaporates from the skin more slowly than DEET or IR3535 and may repel bugs for longer periods. Developed by Bayer AG in the 1980s and sold in the U.S. since 2005, picaridin “does not carry the same neurotoxicity concerns as DEET but has not been tested as much over the long term.” Overall, EWG’s assessment is that picaridin is a good DEET alternative with many of the same advantages and without the same disadvantages. EWG recommends picardin 5-10 percent for short protection times, and picardin 20 percent for longer periods.
Shop for Avon Bug Guard with Picaridin online at my store. It seems this one is much more mild than DEET, and seems to be a plastic and vinyl friendly compound.
While Avon Does NOT offer DEET in it’s Insect Repellents, I’ll cover it here to compare to the others.
DEET is the most common mosquito and tick repellent and “is a reasonable, if imperfect, choice,” the authors write. Registered for public use since 1957, DEET gives off a distinct odor and may damage plastic, rubber and vinyl. On the plus side, when used as directed, DEET is considered safe by many public health authorities and organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the American Academy of Pediatrics, and WHO. That said, DEET is known to irritate the eyes and in intense doses may even induce neurological damage; though after reviewing reports of seizures, the EPA concluded the rate of adverse reactions to be very low — about one per 100 million persons.
Oil of lemon eucalyptus is the trade name for a repellent that originated as an extract of the eucalyptus tree native to Australia. If refined, paramenthane-3,8-diol, also known as PMD, results. Many products combine oil of lemon eucalyptus and PMD. Some testing has shown that concentrations of 20 to 26 percent PMD may perform as well as 15 to 20 percent DEET against both mosquitoes and ticks, though its maximum protection time against mosquitoes and ticks is shorter, according to the EPA. Oil of lemon eucalyptus/PMD is not recommended when the risk of West Nile virus is high or against sand flies or ‘no-see-ums,’ a particularly annoying biting insect. The CDC advises against the use of the oil on children under three years of age. EWG recommends PMD 10 percent for short protection time and oil of lemon eucalyptus 30-40 percent for longer periods.
Again, each of the above compound descriptions came from MedicalDaily.com They have much more on the different viruses such as West Nile, that are carried by Tics. I encourage you to look into these Compounds as you will be applying them to your skin. And consider that the disease may be far worse than these properly applied insect repellants.

This is one of Avon’s most remarkable new products that has drawn critical praise form it’s users. Lets take a look at two of them, and notice this product had both young and older fans:
Comments about Anew Vitamin C Brightening Serum:
This was one product that I bought consistently in the past when it was Clearly C. When Avon stopped selling it I was so extremely disappointed; it was that good. There were no other products I was faithful to so I stopped purchasing Avon products. I kept checking from time to time and even sent an email asking the company to bring it back. To no avail. I got an email from Avon recently and thought, what the heck, let me see if Avon has come to their senses 🙂 I couldn’t believe it when I saw it on their website–early Christmas present for me! This stuff does exactly what it says! It does have a bit of a sticky quality, so I only use it at night. As long as the formula is the same, you will love the results!
- 55 yrs and olderYes, I would recommend this to a friend
And this from a younger user:
- Correct uneven skin tone
- Very hydrating
- Alcohol smell
- Everyday before night cream or moisturizerComments about Anew Vitamin C Brightening Serum:
Great products. It’s been effective in evening out my skin tone. Was turned off slightly at first by alcohol smell but it doesn’t clog my pores like other brands of vitamin c serum.
- I shop Avon:
- more than 6x a year Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I should note, that in a number of reviews, users noted the strong alcohol smell, so if you try it, be prepared to make an allowance for the alcohol smell. Otherwise, a lot of users did say they liked it better than competing Vitamin C Skin Treatment Serums.
Rounding Up the Avon Campaign 11 Brochure
I always get excited about the new and featured products in each Campaign, and fill up my post with them. But there is so much more one sale that I did not get to. For one, as you have already seen, from what I covered, the Avon Campaign 11 Brochure is the opening sale time for Bug Guard, and it’s packed with Avon’s Anew Skin Care Treatments. Almost all the must have skin repairing treatments are on sale!
Nutra Effects is on sale too. If this is a new name for you, it shouldn’t be, I have featured it before. Nutra Effects is Avon’s Naturals Line. Use it because it is Free of parabens, phthalates and dyes. They are usually on sale – or have some Special purchase package, and yes the are also on sale – check out the Avon Campaign Brochure Page 50, or use the link above to see the entire line.
Campaign 11 is also the best time to stock up on Avon’s ClearSkin Acne Treatments. Heading into summer, skin naturally begins to get clogged by more of the air-born dirt, Pollen, and general yuckie stuff.
Click the link above and check out the ClearSkin line, and take a look at what people are saying about this very effective and cost-minimum no hype product.
And here again I filled up a very long page, and still did not even begin to cover a lot of the very good makeup, skin care, jewelry, and all the other wonderful products you can get in Campaign 11 from Avon.
Please check out the entire Campaign 11 Brochure at my Avon Store, and be sure to also register for Avon’s daily specials via customer registration at my e-store.
Thank you for reading my Campaign 11 Brochure blog post, hope to see you again in Campaign 12!
